Angus worked in the City for 20 years, at James Capel, Smith New Court / Merrill Lynch and GLG Partners respectively. After leaving GLG he became the first Director of the Prince's Rainforest Project. In June 2012 he launched GCIB.

Chris Smith

Chris is sector lead for Sovereign Sustainable Finance and is a member of the Operations & Strategy Group of the firm. Chris worked in the City of London for 15 years for HSBC and Standard Charted Bank in a range of corporate , global markets and institutional banking roles. More latterly he was Head of Group Sustainability at Standard Chartered. In 2007 Chris was seconded by Standard Chartered to work at Clarence House for HRH The Prince of Wales where he held the position of Chief Operating Officer of The Prince's Rainforest Project and Sustainable Development Advisor to The Offices and Household of HRH The Prince of Wales. Chris then spent two years at Management Consultant, Arthur D. Little where he led ADLs Sustainable Finance and ESG Risk Management team. Following this he left "employment" to pursue an entrepreneurial career within sustainable finance. He has worked extensively across the global south and has served on a range of advisory boards during his career and is an advisor to both UNEP-FI and UNDP. Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Leicester.

Allison Lobb

Allison has been working in Equity sales for the past 17 years, beginning her career at Lehman Brothers before spending time at both Nomura and Royal Bank of Canada. Most recently she ran RBC’s Sovereign Wealth Business in equities and the Equity Sales Business in the UK. Her focus has been on public and private equity capital across all geographies. She has extensive experience in fundraising for both listed and unlisted companies as well as the IPO market. Allison was born and raised in Zimbabwe before she moved to the UK to start university. She has a Bsc in Economics, Politics and International Relations from Warwick University.

Salome Warigah

Salome has close to two decades of experience in investment banking, corporate banking, and corporate finance, working in the dynamic and diverse financial markets of Africa. Her specialist expertise includes origination and structuring of equity and debt transactions in lending, private debt, private equity, capital markets, structured products, and project finance. She has held senior roles at various financial institutions, including most recently Head of Regional Corporates & Syndication for the East Africa Community at Ecobank Kenya Limited. Salome holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) from United States International University – Africa, a Certificate in Financing Agribusiness Value Chain Programmes from Strathmore Business School, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Edward Storey

Edward has 10 years of executive leadership experience in the fintech and telecoms industries and a further 10 in investment banking advisory and principal investment at firms including Goldman Sachs, Rothschild, and the corporate governance hedge fund Breeden Partners. Working with start-ups through to public companies, Edward has raised funding for and invested in a wide variety of sectors across the globe. A graduate of Trinity College Dublin, he currently serves as a non-executive director at Chemifloc, Ireland’s leading manufacturer of chemicals for clean water.

Ede Borbely

Ede did energy transformation projects at the Boston Consulting Group and built up the renewables and energy efficiency division of a European industrial conglomerate before BwB. Ede has 13 years of experience in the energy industry. He worked in energy sales, transformation, strategy and due diligence projects at BCG, the Boston Consulting Group, for clients in 10+ countries. Afterwards, he was leading the creation and implementation of the renewable energy and energy efficiency strategy of MOL Group, a European industrial company.

Ryan spent nearly seven years working in the hedge fund space, predominantly focussed on thematic and quantamental equity investing in public markets. His prior experience includes stints at Marble Bar, Man GLG and KPMG. Prior to these roles, Ryan studied Politics at the University of Warwick.

Zahoro Muhaji

Zahoro is an entrepreneur and business executive with a strong interest in innovation and technology and an established track record of founding and managing enterprises. His recent experience includes serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Tanzania Startup Association. In addition to sitting on various boards of both public and private sector organisations, Zahoro is a member of the Technical Team that is drafting Tanzania’s ‘Development Vision 2025-2050’, the nation’s roadmap for driving sustainable growth and development over the next 25 years.

Tommaso Buso

Tommaso previously worked in the ESG retail practice of Amundi AM and the sustainable finance division of Deloitte France where he advised large European banks and asset managers on their climate risk and sustainability strategies. Prior to that, Tommaso volunteered at UNESCO and contributed to crafting their crowdfunding strategy. Tommaso also co-founded The Carbon Neutrality challenge, which garnered the sponsorship of leading institutions engaged in the decarbonisation field. Tommaso holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Economic Affairs from Sciences Po Paris and speaks five languages.

Blanca is the City Finance Specialist for Spanish and Portuguese cities within the European Commission’s NetZeroCities Initiative. She specialises in Urban Climate Finance and has worked within C40’s City Finance Programme at the NDC Partnership, the OECD, and N26 Bank. Blanca holds a dual master’s degree in international affairs from the London School of Economics and Sciences Po Paris, a bachelor’s degree in social and political sciences from the Free University of Berlin and is fluent in 5 languages.

Belen is a multilingual economist with expansive experience in the public and development policy sector. She took early career steps at institutions such as the Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs, KfW Development Bank, and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom. In her previous role as junior advisor at the German Development Agency GIZ, she specialized in climate and infrastructure finance for cities while working for the C40 Cities Finance Facility program, and published articles on green bonds. She holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Bayreuth and two bachelor’s degrees in international cultural and business studies from the University of Passau and the University El Salvador in Buenos Aires.

Nuno Meira

Nuno is a multilingual agriculture and food systems expert with over 25 years of experience across three continents in both the private and public sectors. His specialist knowledge includes developing solutions around sustainable finance, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and agricultural risk management (insurance, reinsurance, and microinsurance). His career has included work for major international and national organisations such as the International Finance Corporation/World Bank, the International Labour Organization, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), CGIAR, and InsuResilience Solutions Fund. He has also been appointed by the Portuguese government as an expert for Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) assessments on biodiversity. Vuk Srdanovic

Vuk spent eight years building the international business of Dutch asset management house Kempen Capital Management, expanding their business with institutional investors in continental Europe and helping to open both their Paris and London offices. Prior to this, Vuk worked for American asset manager T.Rowe Price, helping develop their Nordic institutional business. Vuk started his career covering the South East Asian markets for Robert Fleming/Jardine Fleming in the mid-90’s and has worked for both Banque Paribas in Paris and JP Morgan in London. Vuk holds a Master degree in International Business from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris. When not helping BwB, Vuk can usually be found on a tennis court.

Prior to this, Rupesh worked at PwC in the corporate finance practice. Rupesh is a chartered accountant and Freeman of the City of London. Nicholas Winsor has more than 35 years as an executive with HSBC Group, mainly in the Asia Pacific region. Notable roles include CEO and Vice President of HSBC in Taiwan, Director of HSBC Bank Middle East Limited and Head of Retail Banking for Asia. Based in Singapore, Nicholas Winsor is now an independent advisor and consultant. He is also a non-executive director of Metro Bank Plc, Schroders Oriental Income Fund Limited and Senior Independent Director of the Jersey Development Company. He is an EXCO member of the Singapore Fund Directors Association and a member of Chapter Xero. Nicholas Winsor is also the Chair of an Autism Charity. A passionate supporter of sustainable finance with more than 20 years of experience in capital markets and economics, Djellil is at the forefront of innovative sustainable finance. As a thought leader, he co-wrote a book about green financial innovation setting the ground for Sustainability-Linked instruments. Djellil founded Emena Advisory in 2012 to pursue his passion and worked for several investment banks prior to that. He is also a member of several leading think tanks and contributed to the first report on positive economy for the French president and to several reports for the G20 and French policy makers. He graduated from Catholic University of Leuven and holds a M.Sc. in financial markets from Paris Dauphine University and a Ph.D. in industrial economics from Paris Sorbonne Nouvelle University.

More recently, Sanjay oversaw the build out of HSBC’s Sustainable Trade Finance business, with facilities provided to customers growing at a CAGR of 6X to reach $ 10 bn since launch of the framework in 2020. Asen brings diverse experience in structured finance, corporate finance, and financial markets from working over a decade in the City of London. Over the past few years Asen has been involved in fund management of public and privately funded facilities with focus on energy efficiency and is now a Council member of Latvian Building Energy Efficiency Facility (LABEEF). Asen has also mentored several European cities and start-ups in their financing strategy towards sustainable development.

Odhran has over 25 years of experience in the financial services and the capital markets sector combining roles of analyst and institutional equity sales on the sell side with that of a senior portfolio manager in a prominent Middle Eastern family office. Odhran has also acted as CEO and Head of Investments for a wealth management business in Geneva, which he established in 2013. Odhran has chaired and been a member of a number of investment committees and continues to advise family offices and UHNW clients on their investment strategies, portfolio construction, and overall risk protocols.

George Ioulianos

George is the City Finance Specialist for Greek and Cypriot cities within the European Commission’s NetZeroCities Initiative. He has over 20 years of experience in the provision of financial advisory and management consulting services, with expertise in business analysis and planning, project and company valuation, financial management, and raising financing through private equity and funding programmes. He started his career at Deloitte & Touche and since 2019 he held his own consulting practice. George is the founder of the first citizen’s company in Limassol (COCO Collective Ownership Company Limassol Ltd) that aims to make citizens the owners and leaders of the transition to a sustainable future. George holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, a master’s degree in finance and economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and an MBA from the Cyprus International Institute of Management. Yoana brings nearly 15 years of experience working in various areas of marketing, corporate communications and performance optimisation gained in England, Scotland, and Austria. Yoana has worked at large-scale international organisations like Red Bull Media House (Salzburg), Aberdeenshire Council (Aberdeen), the European Parliament, Weber Shandwick PR and the BBC. Most recently Yoana has moved to supporting the digital presence of green brands and companies in the digital space. Yoanna’s experience also includes work as a freelance translator supporting public sector organisations in the UK. Yoana’s achievements include public speaking and writing awards, academic honours, scholarships, and accolades. Isaac graduated in 2021 from the University of Sussex, with a first-class degree in philosophy, politics, economics. Isaac’s interest in environmental issues led to employment as a Junior Research Associate in Sussex, working on private sector deforestation reduction initiatives, as well as a project for the UN Environment Programme, where he conducted research into the economic and social impacts of oil palm expansion. Prior to joining BwB, Isaac worked as a Policy Intern at Public Strategy for Sustainable Development, a sustainability think-tank and advisory network based in Brussels.

Tenke Zoltani, Founder of Better Finance, is an expert in the field of impact investing, focusing on structuring, direct investments and portfolio integration of ESG principles. Tenke has over a decade of experience in the field of sustainable finance with a passion for the environment and sustainable living. Tenke founded Better Finance, a boutique advisory company to work with families and institutional investors to identify, design, implement and manage solutions to investing with impact from origination to execution. Tenke was also Director, Impact Investing at UBS where she built out the bank's impact advisory practice for UHNW individuals. Before joining UBS, Tenke was an Investment Manager at Islan Asset Management in Switzerland, advising global agribusiness Bunge, on direct investments, and implementing projects in frontier markets' food-water-energy sectors. Tenke built her expertise in London, consulting to governments and utilities on carbon finance and working alongside Lord Stern in climate research. Tenke holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Columbia University and a M.Sc. in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics and is a CAIA Charterholder for alternative finance. Tenke was selected as a 2013 Global Economic Symposium Fellow. Tenke is a former Committee Member for 100 Women in Hedge Funds and an Executive Committee member of Sustainable Finance Geneva.
