Debt Structuring

An increasing cost of capital and constrained access to capital markets restricts the prospect for efficient debt issuance in less developed countries. We are actively innovating finance mechanisms and instruments that direct debt issuance and refinancing to delivering nature and climate performance. These new instruments deliver value for citizens and, through relief measures, break the undesirable cycle of debt and debt servicing, characteristic of conventional debt issuance and help contribute towards achievement of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and Sustainable Development Goals. A critical component of our success in this work is to build required capacity with central departments and line ministries to establish a clear feasibility analysis and roadmap for how solutions may be scaled effectively.
